Experience

Ms. O’Krongley has a varied aviation background with practical experience in Airport Noise Compatibility Planning and Airport Operations.  Her project work has included NAVAIDS Planning Services for George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Category II/III and SMGCS coordination for William P. Hobby Airport, formulation of Ramp Rules of Operations and Security Plan necessary as a result of the realignment and joint use of Kelly AFB, and assisting with the FAR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Programs for Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania.  She is currently working on the FAR Part 150 Update for Little Rock National Airport and is assisting with the Master Plan for William P. Hobby Airport in Houston, Texas.

Prior to joining Ricondo & Associates, Inc., Ms. O’Krongley was the airport representative for the FAR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study and associated Airport Noise Programs for San Antonio International Airport.  In that capacity, she coordinated architects, consultants, and engineers while managing the implementation of the Airport’s Part 150, a residential sound insulation pilot program, and the ground run-up enclosure.  Ms. O’Krongley was extensively involved with the public participation and community involvement inherent in a Part 150 Study where she fielded complaints, analyzed areas of concern, maintained detailed statistics, and provided presentations to various public interest and official groups.  She was also involved with airspacing issues surrounding the relocation of ASOS equipment as a preliminary component to the ground run-up enclosure.

Prior to her role involving airport noise programs, Ms. O’Krongley provided on-site management for the day-to-day operations at San Antonio International Airport and was responsible for the research, design, and implementation of the airfield driver’s training and emergency response programs.  She was also responsible for the oversight of airfield and terminal building construction sites, in addition to ensuring compliance with necessary federal regulations and safety procedures.  This experience provided practical knowledge of airport security, for both terminal and airside operations.  Combined with her pilot’s license, this airfield experience has given Ms. O’Krongley a broad range of experience in airport management and has allowed her the basis for understanding the needs of airlines and airport users in an efficient and realistic manner.

Ms. O’Krongley also was an Adjunct Professor for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at Embry-Riddle’s Randolph AFB campus where she instructed graduate-level students in aviation disciplines, specifically Airport Operations, Safety and Security.
