Tom Bartlett, Deputy Director of Aviation and Chief
Operating officer for the Houston Airport System
Thomas
B. Bartlett is Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy Director of Aviation for
Operations Services for the Houston Airport System
(HAS). He is
responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of the
three Houston aviation facilities: George Bush
Intercontinental Airport,
William P. Hobby Airport, and Ellington Field.
Mr.
Bartlett became COO in February 2003 and brought to the position over 35 years
of aviation and aeronautical related experience and
education. He
has been an HAS employee for the past 25 years of his career and has extensive
knowledge in each of the areas he is now
accountable for.
In
addition to his responsibilities as COO with HAS, he also holds the title of
Senior Vice President Operations and Maintenance with Houston
Airport System Development
Corporation (HASDC). HASDC is affiliated with Houston Airport System which is
responsible for operating and
maintaining an airport in
Quito, Ecuador, and in the very near future in San Jose, Costa Rica. His
presentation will address the role of HASDC in the
airport privatization
arena.
A graduate of
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Mr. Bartlett holds a Bachelor of Science
in Aeronautical Studies and Flight Technology, and
an Associates of Science in Aviation Management. In
addition, he is a commercial and instrument pilot, advanced and instrument
ground
instructor, and a certified flight instructor.
